F18, Tornado or A class would not be an issue in 25 knots punching off the line.

I don't know about that... we sailed the 5.8 in a regatta with a fleet of H16's. They started 5 mins before us so we had to sail though them to get to the first mark. The H16 has a lot of sail area for a 16 footer so it creates a huge wind shadow. Sailing underneath them is not that easy, especially when there is three or four in a row.

Sailing below a H16 is like arguing with an idiot... They just bring you down to their level and beat you with experience!

If you're sailing a N5.8 and start 5 minutes after H16s on a normal course, and you have to worry about passing them on the way to the weather mark, then you're sailing with a bunch of 16 sailors with the same skill level I was describing on big boats in my earlier post...

Not that it helps to know that. You still have to get through the picket fence of reaching boats...
