I had this one on the schedule but weather forecast is not looking good. Chance of severe weather Sat for SC and NC. Wind is looking good but I don't own proper gear for rainy, wet weather. You guys have a great race!

As I get older, I am starting to have eye problems, I just can't see myself sailing in this stuff tomorrow so I am going to Moseley out (actually my crew refused). See everyone at Spring Fever, Rick

Pity that mother nature couldn't swap saturday and sunday. Sunday looks quite fresh around here. Looking forward to getting some good practice in after the Dogwood regatta.

I just got home from the club and I think it will be nice tomorrow. Sunday should be awsome. Don't wank out now!!!!

The A's have some strength and the 16's should roll.

Just about 1pm and pouring rain. Buckets.

If everyone hangs in the club all afternoon self-lubricating the party tonight should be killer!

Time for a beverage...

Down on Lanier we sailed in some 30-40knot frontal winds. It was insane. Sorta glad that I wasn't on the cat today. A lot of big boats blew out sails today.

3 races today in 14mph race 1 to 18-21 in race 3. Lots of wind and waves rolling down the lake, huge chop between races opted me out after race 1(Mosley out...), but the fleet sailed on, flipped over, but all came back to the beach grinning. Great day today, see you at Spring Fever!

Despite not sailing on Saturday, this regatta was a blast. The location was amazing, the company was awesome, and there was plenty to keep everyone entertained. The racing was a lot of fun today. I got in a nice pitchpole, just to rinse off, and I learned quite a bit on the water. Great regatta!

... well, I wasn't going to rub it in. But, since you mentioned it, I sure did. You can't beat showing up with one boat and going home with two.

Even with the wash out on Sat, Sunday made up for it. I just checked the lake observations for 9 am- noon and it was about 16-18 with gust up to 24.... But it was steady enough to be managable even with me and my daughter in the featherweight class. I was hoping for 5-7 H16s, but we did have 3. Loyd and Gary, which came with the F18, opted to team up with James and Jack on their H16s since they came single handed and there was only one F18, so we had some fun races.

Thanks Sea Cats... See everyone at SF

On lake lanier, the conditions were a bit more epic. Gusts were easily to 30+ and it was freezing cold.

On Saturday we went out on the keelboat and were only one of a handful to actually finish. A Pinnacle 30 blew its mainsail out and shrimped their spin in a broach that blew it away. Another J boat had its jib shreded to tatters, while a C&C99 had its steering cable snapped under load and the emergency tiller was simply too loaded for the skipper to be able to handle.

Sunday was more of the same... and we had a part time stint as Geologists. Twice :-/

Waaay too cold to be on the cat.

Take it to Monosailor.com. This is a catamaran site.

It was plenty chilly, but I'm sure it was colder and windier and whatever else'er farther south where you were.

Hey! I know we spent some time cleaning the bottom of the hulls, rinsing the sails/trampoline, and inspecting the water depth by the dam (which is over 30' deep BTW)...but Zander/Kohl raced all three races!

Fresh water rinse is good for the gear, but bad for the leaderboard. Good on ya for stickin' with it.
Thanks for the shelter in the storm, literally.

It was a fun weekend even with the bad weather on Saturday. Sunday was great practice and we stayed upright-barely. Had two saves that were REALLY close to going over. Lots of fun and see everyone at SF!
