Posts: 1,253 Columbia South Carolina, USA | My sail came with the boat, not sure it was made for my mast, but if the outhaul is on tight, it pulls out of the track at the bottom, despite a line tied thru the downhaul grommet. Its a Marsrom, so the outhaul is the mainsheet, I rigged a limiter, but if I limit it to where the sail doesnt pull out, it loses proper shape(too full). Im in the process of building a boom strap for the mainsheet instead of the mainsheet outhaul configuration, but is this a sail problem?

Posts: 40 | I had that problem with my Landy sail. A line through the grommet and remembering to cleat the in haul seems to prevent it. I think the cleating of the in hull is the important part -- it needs to resist sheet load and the little scrap of line I use for the grommet really isn't doing much except buying me a bit of time if/when I forget.
Other than that, I also thought about stitching some more cloth around the bolt rope at the bottom to make it a bit more snug.
