Sorry Scooby, that is an assumption.

Plenty of development in the 49er, Star, 470 and Tornado OD classes. Even the Laser class has undergone some chages. The only difference here is that all these classes are competing against themself and not involved with any formula racing.

Why not start with a clean sheet and stay away from the F18 class. Surley that has to be more healthy for the sport.

Far better idea. The tiger is getting some air time as Hobiecat will provide the boats FOR THE GAMES.

Sailors will still need 2-3 boats scattered around the world for their campaigns. Cost reduction will be small.

I'd support a new boat / or one of the currents. I'd even suggest we go even wilder and support something like WIlliam's wide M20 (The Vampire).

Choosing any of the F18's will be bad for the class.

F16 - GBR 553 - SOLD

How about a new OD 100kg 18 footer? Like an updatd Taipan 5.7? All of the F18 developments could be harvested and all of the F18 sailors could easily adapt to it. The original F18 class would remain intact.

Well ISAF tells us they are the bees knees when it comes to sailing (apart from the canoes)

I appreciate the work being done.. Some good people working hard..

but I don't believe they have a snowflakes chance.. Remembering the promises made and broken by US Sailing in the past.. Why would they change now?

Also ISAF power brokers have played their hand well and the cat community has fallen hook line and sinker..

Sorry Im disillusioned and until ISAF changes their governing committee and practices I will wait to see any real changes. Sick of the illusions they create..
