Posts: 713 WA, ID, MT | Thanks guys for the continuing advice, I will buy new, quality bits for this job. Bill, I agree that there's a big price for non kick up rudders, definitely more fussing getting on and off the beach. Not to bad sailing on deep, generally weed free lakes, I'd be hesitant sailing in shallow waters. I've only got one season on this boat uder my belt, but I did get several big air days with big chop/swell, and I was amazed how resistant she was to sticking a bow. Could be the T foils, could be the tall, bouyant bows. Anybody know the size of those s.s bolts for the gudgeons? Or a stateside source for Sea fit?

Dave My opinion is that the T's make a massive difference. I saield an (EU spec) inter 17 before my stealth, and the I17 was far more twitchy down wind...

Posts: 805 Gainesville, FL 32607 USA | I have had T-foils on this foiled A-cat in my thumbnail for 9 years- With kick up Hobie rudder system. Works fine. I added a small line and a kickup cleat to the tiller to hold them down.

Probably a new thread but tell us more about your foiled A cat and whether it is worth having a look at a future build along the lines of a fully optimised foiled cat ? | | |
