There has been so much mis-information and personally pointed negative comment about Formula racing for years here it has slowed the development of the sport here .

Though it seems your making the case for Formula racing per example of F-18s,as they become more accepted U S sailors who are mainly only familiar with mfg.class racing will begin to understand that you can have different builders for a class and that this encourages better faster safer boats for racing catsailors through limited development .

Rather than your own immediate objective of a N -6/0 WITH 348 SQ FT SPIN ,---we might ask what do all the N/6-0 express versions do ? or the C F mast versions -or original version 6/0 s or those with 270 spin ,-how do they find a class to race in . Hobie 20s with spin as sailed by the Aussie team in the 98 Worrell ,-they should have a class of similar boats to race with ,-P-19S ,-build a S C 20 to F-20 class specs ,--what great fun to creat your own distance racing machine and bring it out to the start line of a race like the Tybee 500 next year , ready for ocean racing ,digital compass ,improved snuffer system ,-high strength rudder and board system ,--positive floatation ,-
safety line and trap line systems ,-hardware leads and control lines lead aft to extreme sailing location at sterns where needed ,--all these aspects provide the opportunity for better safer craft per basic rules outline and F-20 specs,.

As per specific F-20 there is the H-Fox -I-20 --Storm 20 ,mYSTERE 20 -and several others already built to iF 20 .-WE HAVE THE OPORTUNITY to establish a basic set of boat specs. and rules outline that allows numerous boats and existing boats to modify into it ALSO with minor modification.
It is a good goal to work toards over the next year or two .

It is not for everyone ,but provides an interesting -fun class that would be very affordable for a great many catsailors ,--that could also have the option of including the 6/0 in most any form . Mainly it provides a set of basic rules that allows mods for 20s ideal for these types of distance races where they are required for improved safety .
