I am flying in and looking for someone to share a rental car. Anyone else flying down for the race?

We'll be driving down on Thursday afternoon, could give you a ride if you need one.
Can't help ya after the race though as we plan to fly back and might be looking for a ride ourselves.

Plans change... I might be flying down... might be looking for a ride Friday morning around 10AM from Fort Lauderdale.

Last year some boats were at Gilbert's and some were at the Carribean Club. That was kind of a bummer for the awards as the boats that went back to Gilberts after the finish missed the award ceremony. It would be nice to have all the boats in one spot. Maybe Rick can let us know what he plans to do with the award ceremony and everyone can try to rig/launch there.

I was the first boat at the carib. club last year, and no one at the bar( where you were supposed to pay) knew anything about us. Then I had to try to negotiate with Atilla the Lot Nazi. After she figured out she could gouge us pretty good, she at least became civil. I'm all for the carib. club if there is some ground work laid before folks start showing up. Rick, how 'bout it?

Despite bartenders and the Nazi saying they knew nothing about it, Son Dave talked to the owners and it was all OKed last year. Apparently, the word does not get to the people there from the owners.

Last year, I knew someone had talked to somebody but I didn't have the owner's name(that OKed it) so they didn't believe me.Doesn't surprise me the info never filtered down.

what about starting at the hotel where the turn bouy is? With Jewfish creek being a fixed bridge now, you don't have to worry about that.

I think last year worked perfect at the Carribean Club... minus dealing with the bartenders.. Todd, I think we beat you there cause we went before we brought the big trailer to warn them of it coming.
Rick even got to relax on the dock and take our times as we finished!
The Anne's beach finish was a lot better last year too!
Any changes would just complicate the race.. I like it as simple as it is!

There's no way that hotel would work. There is not nearly enough space. I got to spend an entire afternoon there a couple Steeplechase's ago......don't ask me how I know.
