As far as the Caribbean Club, there is no problem with launching there on their launching ramp. The only question is whether you will be allowed to use the beach. And even if, for any reason, you could not use the Caribbean Club, you could launch at Gilbert's ramp or at the ramp just south of the Anchorage. I don't know what the situation is with Gilbert's beach, because I haven't been there in two years.

Rick WILL be finishing the race on Sunday at the Caribbean Club, regardless of where people are pulling out.

I don't think there is any issue at all about that. What did they charge last year, $50 for the launch and leaving the trailer there all weekend?

The owners of the Caribbean Club, Robbie and Kathy, already know the boats are coming -- Dave told them a couple of weeks ago. As I said, the only outstanding question was the use of the beach. Seems to me that was an unanswered question last year, too, and the boats just went ahead and set up on the beach anyway. It makes sense for the Caribbean Club, because then the sailboats are out of the way and don't clog up their ramp and interfere with their regular powerboat launch traffic.

Over the past many years it has been my experience that it doesn't matter what you work out with the owners of the Caribbean Club, because the bartenders still won't know anything about it.

Seeing a bunch of sailors pulling in should put dollar signs in their eyes. Unless, of course, you guys aren't tipping appropriately (which I doubt is the case).

Okay, all set. No problem with using the beach. But you have to put your boat on the beach BEFORE you raise your mast, because there is a tree in the way to get to the beach.

Also, it looks like they are charging $40, including launch and three days of keeping trailer there.

Jake. Where the heck are you? Didnt see your name on the registered list. Holly got her own bag by the way. Got myself a new pair of boots to sail in too. Probably see my boat at WM. Usually my first stop in the morning anyway. Boy this drive us getting boring.

I'm holding out for a whole week of sailing down there in January with the a-cat race week followed by Tradewinds. I got a great little I20 / A-cat double stack rack that works our real nice. My drive is probably 1/2 of your but even then, if I gotta go that far, I would rather make it a week long excursion!

Are you guys coming back for Tradewinds? I need to hear some more of Holly bellowing "why are you sailing so high!!!!" (but you gotta remember I come in from sailing an a-cat for a week).
