Posts: 5,558 Key Largo, FL & Put-in-Bay, OH... | Okay, here's the latest scoop. The Caribbean Club decided to let us use the beach and everything, but we have to pay them $500 a day -- $1,000 total for the weekend. You will NOT pay them individually. You will pay me $50 at registration for the beach/trailer storage fee, and we have to deliver the $1,000 to them Friday evening. The only problem with this plan is that if we don't have at least 20 boats launching at the Caribbean Club, we still have to come up with $1,000. Hmmm. | | | Re: 2009 Key Largo Steeplechase

Posts: 5,590 Naples, FL | good to know for next year, as this "fee" could be included in the entry dues for all sailors, and allow them free parking/setup on site. I guess the only issue would be if too many boats showed up. How many boats and trailers can Carib Club hold?
And with that forecast Ding posted, there should be 30+ boats in this one. 10-15? C'mon, even the H16 would have a good time...

Posts: 3,655 Portland, Maine | Wind forcast has moderated a bit according to windmapper. Looks like its gonna blow overnight and before noon then settle down in the afternoon to about 5-10 on Saturday. Sunday looks the same just a little more. http://www.windmapper.com/FL/observationsI used this website for the T500 and it was pretty much spot on all week long. | | |
