Materialistic approaches or, "trades in kind" do not work with this particular department head.

For plan B, try the emotional appeal of "mid life crisis."

So the new carbon speed machine weights the same as a well built plywood Tornado with alu mast. Good work! grin

It also comes with something else the Tornado doesn't - a warranty and a dealer :P

Dont need no steenking warranty. You built it yourself boy, you know how to fix it. Way better than any warranty and a team of lawyers.

I don't have time to build my own boat - nor do I have the know-how to make durable enough to make it last through the beatings I put my boats through.

Not saying you should build. Just pointing out how little progress there really has been on boat construction the last 30 years. Design progress on the other hand have been immense.

Nice kitchen. If you did that, you can easily build a nice boat.

Beatings. You think your are tougher than the rest, eh? I think not. It is just ignorance on boat construction and sailing loads on your side. Reckless sailing will always kill a boat unless it is ridiculously overbuilt.

Dont know why I bother posting. Now bugging off again.

This boat does not deserve to be in your boat lot. It deserves to be on the water.

You could just buy one without telling her. Like they say, it's always easier to get forgivness than permission. You're married now, what is she going to do.....leave you?

I know you're new at this - but there are a lot of different types of leverage and pain, other than "leaving", that could and would be applied. crazy
