Try to scrounge up some -size small- trap harness' for some of the smaller kids. I had to buy a kiddie size for my kids, they kept slipping out of my "Size L's"!

Use the catamarans as coach boats and put the sailing coaches on them. That should change their opinions quickly...

Old Dogs, new tricks...

I still remember an old Labor Day regatta at Sarasota picking my way through the 420 fleet downwind... like they were standing still... Lots of kids asked about the N20 that day....

The kids are all for it, it's the adults that are afraid of cats. When I talk about cat racing to my co-workers who race monohulls, the most often reaction I get is, "Don't Cats spend a lot of time flipped over? How can you finish a race when all you do is flip over?" or, "I thought cats could only reach, I didn't think they could actually go upwind..."

That is the mentality we are up against when it comes to getting any "old school" mono clubs to accept cats, that and "Where are we going to store all those things, we can't stack them up..."

My favorite is "what do you do if the boat turtles?" ah, pull it back up?

I keep wanting to tell them that I typically just scuttle the boat then swim back in.
