Posts: 256 North Europe, Sweden, Uppsala | Sailing the latest Marstrom A-class with banana center boards and gennaker can be quite a ride! Normal sailing level is with the lee bow just touching the water, but if you stand a bit too far back it will quickly take off with the bow in the air. It will slow the boat down so to go fast this is not the way! Without gennaker you can get the boat to fly a bit on the center boards in waves but it's a bit more tricky. The "flying" sequency of around 6 seconds. Close up of the boat during "flying" All pictures in higher res can be found here: High res pictures /hakan

Posts: 678 Palm Beach County | Looks like you are ready for take-off. Many years ago I was sailing a Portsmith run for G-Cat in Tampa Bay. A nasty overnight squall came through the beach that damaged a few boats. Boats were hung on the fence not a pretty sight. I had a chance to sail with Randy and the owner Herb on a SuperCat 20 tall rig after we bent the mast back in shape from getting piled into the sand from the storm. We came behind a Maxi Yacht with a very large head sail - right up in the slot and the Super Cat leaped right out of the water at about the same angle and went airborne. The flight time was not very long and it headed back into the water at about the same angle now bow first. We managed to hold onto it. I was running the main sheet and got rope burns through my gloves, Randy was” hanging ten” off the rudder housing taking a picture, and Herb resembled a trolling lure. Who said sailing is not like flying?

Just put them on Arbo's ARC21, it already hasthe daggerboard wells in front of the main beam. | | | Re: Foiling on A-class "banana" board

Going UP!
The scarry part would be "Sticking the Landing"!
