We are thinking of going to Italy for the summer vacation, and taking catamaran with us. Looking at the lakes Lago di Lugano, Lago di Como and Lago Maggiore. I have heard that one of the lakes has a camping spot at the lake, and that the wind is relable as clockwork.

Is there anyone with (local) experience that can give me hints and tips on what the best place might be?

Lago di Garda is the place to go, especially the northern end of it. Nicer, however, ist the east coast.

I've had a really great experience in Gravedona (como). Nice wind, friendly sailing club... Really nice. Not to mention the gelati... nomnomnom.

Looks like a nice area. I'm going to be back in Monfalcone, Italy in June 2012 working.
