After years of sailing a Hobie 18, we reluctantly sold it (it was getting on in years and needed work) and simplified with a Getaway (still fun, but we miss the 18!). Anyway: does anyone have an idea of how to adjust the rudder assembly so that the fittings connecting the rudder arms to the tiller crossbar don't rub against and gouge the topside of the hulls? It seems like there should be more space between them.

Do you have the old style Hobie 18 cast rudder heads or the newer composite EZ-Loc rudder system? Either should have lots of clearance. Something is amiss. You might post your Getaway questions on the Hobie Getaway forum. Or a photo here.
