OK, here's another quickie re: sailing my newly acquired cat (a Prindle 18). It seems my dual trap lines enjoy wrapping around my shrouds, especially on the lee side, to the extent that they can almost bind up and have to be tugged to unwind. (Yes, they ARE attached to shock cords on the bottom end, but they sling around with the slack.)
Is this because something is too loose and needs to be tensioned more, or is this a normal situation?

Thanks!

Although I'm not familiar with the specific arrangement of the trapezes on a Prindle 18, this is a fairly common thing. It happens a lot on my H-17 and to a lesser extent on my H-16.

The cure is to either increase the shock cord tension, or move the trap away from the shroud.

Yeah - I agree. Bunjies tighter or move them. Another thing that might be fighting you is if your trapeze lines have a lot of kinks in them. Those that are nice, new, and straight tend to come unraveled without hardly thinking about it.
