Posts: 12,310 South Carolina | Apparently the current get's REALLY bad there near the south tower. At high tide, the waves stand up as they go over a shallow spot. It is speculated that they ventured too close to the Tower and the current pulled them through that shallow area. The surfers give should have given him a pretty good indication that they were in trouble! Several boats are demolished each year in that area.
