Catching up to Tad quickly.....

Heh!? Tad's at like 1800 or something...I've been here since day 1 and only the Woutmeister is in front of me! I wouldn't have noticed the 3000th post though...too bad I didn't make it a duzy!

Top 10 are:

Wouter - 3664
me - 3001
Mary - 2378
Tad - 1812 (catching up quickly though)
Rick - 1339
Eric - 858
Carl - 800 (but he uses a new login often or would be higher)
Scooby - 743
Robi - 725
Rolf - 625

I've used the key and ball system once while on a test sail on Mike Krantz (Sailmax.biz's) A2. I didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling when "hooking in" but I imagine I would find it acceptable after getting used to it. There is just not a "click" when hooking up and for a second or two it made me feel uneasy about getting out on the wire. It didn't let me down at all though.

Yup, I screwed up (for maybe the last time this year!). I was thinking Wouter but Tad snuck into my thoughts with the big deal over "Pooh Ba" status earlier this summer and I think a snapse or two let loose. Mea Culpa. What level is beyond Carpal Tunnel?

Having said all that.... With all the horror stories about being trapped under water literally hooked on a line or shroud I would think it might be worth "getting used to" the ball and socket thing. I also like the idea of not damaging the boat with the unforgiving metal hook and spreader. I'm going to put it on my winter project list along with:
- designing a new rudder/tiller system with solid aluminum pole and tie rod ends.
- designing a decal for the side of the boat.

Maybe Santa.....

the only thing is that most of my posts are crap.

Comedic filler if you will, except that I'm the only one that laughs at my posts.

I appreciate that you guys put up with it

Jake posts quality. I post "stream of consciousness". Gives you an idea about how screwed up the inside of my skull is

Hi,
I've been using the "keyhole" system for almost 20 years now. They used to be called "sail-safe". I kept the first set I've purchased and always keep them when selling the previous boat. It's all I will use. See photo attached.
