Looks like an offer that can't be refused!

So the winner will definately be the official F16 National Champion? Any overseas visitors tempted to join in?

Many thanks for organising such an event John, I'll be in touch....

I looked at bringing my own boat overthere but it seems to be a bit dear.

It is the ferry and what they charge for my trailer with boat.

Still considering offering myself as crew for a UK skipper though !

Excellent, I'm originally from West Wales and I'll be there that weekend visiting my family so i'll definatly show up.

Its a fabulous part of the world, some of the best beaches in the UK, and the surf conditions are amazing, Pendine used to be a top spot for kites. So bring all your toys.

And don't worry if your Welsh isn't up to mush as everyone speaks English!

Come to Ireland and see what "a bit dear" is
Euro650.00 for UK cats coming to Ireland for Spitfire Euros.
Go on Wouter and give it a go

The quotes I got weren't THAT high, but for the ferry trip alone I was told to expect several hundred Euro's in fare. However I total (+ gas etc) I was getting close to 650 Euro's very quickly !

Wouter,

Did you look at the freight ferry's not as comfortable as the standard ferry's and full of truckers, but cheaper. That is how we last went to Texel.

"Two new ferries were introduced on to the Harwich-Hook of Holland Route in late 2000 and early 2001. The Stena Britannica sailing overnight from Hook of Holland to Harwich and the Stena Hollandica sailing overnight from Harwich to the Hook of Holland. The new ferries have excellent facilities. They are predominantly freight ships but there is also limited space for car traffic on evening sailings, ideal for passengers who find it more convenient to travel overnight. Full English breakfast and evening meal are included in the cost. Onboard facilities include a cinema."

Can you give me a feel of the savings you made when using this route. You can use the Private message functionality for that.

Thanks

Many thanks to John and Sue for organising and hosting the UK 'Nationals'. We all had a fantastic time and even managed to get John a life-ban from Pendine Beach! Such a shame that only 6 boats attended, but we had some really close racing! Here's hoping that more of you will join in what is bound to become an annual event.

Conditions varied from F1 and a choppy swell through to F4+ and large rollers. Seven really good races and uni's against sloops seemed to prove that the F16 concept works as the boats appeared to be fairly evenly matched in either configuration.

Once again, very many thanks to John and Sue and not forgetting John's parents, John Snr and Maggie who helped to make us very welcome and worked so hard throughout the weekend.

Wouter,

I guess John will post the results, but I don't know about pictures. I've got a few of the boats on the beach but I don't know if any were taken of the races.

These just received from John Pierce:

Results f16 uk titles:

[Linked Image]

All boats were Stealth F16 other than Mark Presdee who sailed a Stealth R. The winning boat was the oldest of the F16's and was using the older 'R' hulls with the older style bow. Other than the shape of the bow these hulls are the same as the current Stealth F16 hulls.

Congratulations to you are in order !

Congratulation with your win John and Paul. Paul is your son right ?

Once again it looks like it was proven that skill is more important than having the newest gear !

Also it seems that the top boats had a nice race going on for first place. That must have been fun.
