Posts: 4 South Korea | Hello All, My Name is Dave. When I was on leave last year I purchased a Hobie 17 from a guy at Fort Rucker and put it into storage. He knew very little about the boat or the setup and I know even less. I have quite a bit of sailing experience in mono hulls but none in multi hulls. As the boat came with no owners manual I will be just guessing about the setup and tuning of the rig. I will be returning from overseas this September and would like to sail it ASAP. Is there anyone out there who could email or send me any information for the Hobie 17 so I can study up prior to getting home? Any help will be greatly appreciated. My email is: david.L.hennies@us.army.milThanks, Dave | | | Re: Hobie 17 set up

It is chock full of just about any information you could be looking for including specific Hobie 17 assembly and repair manuals. Welcome to cat sailing! http://www.hobiecat.com/support/index.html (click on "Sailboats")

Posts: 2,074 Northfield,NH USA | Congratulations Dave,
I think you'll find that this forum is almost as helpful as any other source you can find. These guys are great and probably have 2000 years of combined cat experience. I found the Hobie website Jake gave helpful for the technical set up but the practical experience these guys give out is terrific. They tell you the mistakes they made and differences in techniques are hashed out continuously. I think this is almost as good for getting a knowledge base in cat sailing as trial and error on your own.
Good luck and Dave,......... THANK YOU for your service to all of us.
Greg
