I have a friend who is desperately trying to sell his Prout Scamper (with the taller racing rig) and I am absolutely amazed that he hasn't been able to sell it. What is going on out there? He started off at £12,500 which most people would think was a reasonable starting price, but he's now down to £8,000 about 1 year on. He's even kept the boat in reasonable condition in the meantime and used it most weekends.

This is the link:

whilst it's not a beachcat it's still a small cat, and I've been very impressed with how quick it can be for a weekender. Perhaps you know of someone who's looking for this type of boat? Oh, and the reason I want to see him sell is that we're trying to get him onto his own beachcat like an F16

If this is not the 'done thing', then I apologise and I'll delete the post if asked............

That is a really cute boat. Does it have boards or just those mini-keels? I'm surprised I haven't heard of them before

It *is* nice. The premise of a remotely fast cat cruiser yacht is very tempting. If I had my dream beach-house near Arcachon, (or any harbor space in Europe) I'd buy it in a heartbeat for 8k quid - even with the US dollar in the proverbial toilet.

The Scamper 26 is the day sailing / camper version of the Prout Sirocco 26 hence the name S-camper
The Sirocco is a fully enclosed bridge deck cruiser.
The Scamper is 14ft 3ins wide and can be taken apart for trailer sailing. There is a 7ft by 8ft **** tray.
I found an old brochure
I am amazed at the old cat information I have filed away
