Ok, look at the Aug pic on the left. what is the line/shock chord running from the diamond wire to the shroud (up by the spreader). Looks like it's only on one side. It keeps the spinnaker halyard from finding it's way around behind the spreaders (leaving a nasty snag). The halyard is usually on the starboard side of the mast. Those that have spreaders in which they can run the halyard through them do not have this problem.
