When Race Committee starts making things harder for the sailors just to make things easier for themselves, then they have lost sight of their purpose.
I witnessed a situation where the RC, because of inexperience, made a bad call and was protested by all of the 16 A fleet. The RC decided to play some catch-up and gave the 16 As course 7 twice around for every race on Sunday. The 16 As had a great time while the rest of us sat on the beach waiting for them to finish. The law of unintended results struck again.
