Already been searching on the Farrier/Corsair group, figured I'd ask the question here as well...

It seems it's time to replace my F-27 wing nets. It seems the defacto standard is $unrise, with some getting them from Mentor (no website?).

Anybody have any other sources to suggest? If you got from other than Sunri$e (Mentor, local canvass maker, etc.) what was the pricing like and did you like the product?

I had a fisherman make knotted nets for a ridiculous price. A high tech solution I considered was to use knotless dyneema nets (www.net-sys.com/knotless.htm). It seems that it does not need any reinforcement in the periphery - just cut and use. This makes the price reasonable.
Good luck,
Luiz

That's very interesting on the Dyneema nets not needing periphery reinforcement - that's certainly where the time must be in making these things. Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out.

Keith,

I am just passing a tip received from Kurt Hughes and that interested me at that time. It seems that the company regularly sells nets for multihulls: after I called them, they mailed me a quote with proper size recommendations for tramps, two samples, stretched sizes, etc.

Luiz,
I am assuming that you are refering to the company for which you provided the link (net-sys)?

Keith,

Yes, I referred to Net-Sys. Their reply to my inquiry two years ago, with prices and details, follows. It might be useful.

All the best,
Luiz

Re: RE: UC Silver - Inquiry (Trimaran Netting)

Dear Luiz Schechter,

Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding knotless netting. The standard size of netting we are offering for multihull trampolines is our "Ultra Cross (UC) Silver 40mm BK 20ply Netting" (Breaking Strength is approx 765 Lbs)

UC Silver is a highly advanced form of knotless netting, made from Dyneema/Spectra fibers, that delivers superior strength and performance over conventional knotless netting. Knots are eliminated, braids are balanced with 4 strand construction, and filaments run continuously throughout the netting so strength is enhanced. Over the last few years, we have supplied our UC Silver 40mm BK 20ply knotless netting in Diamond mesh or 1in Square mesh to a number of people who own catamarans and trimarans for trampolines.

When the netting is hung on the Diamond, to its maximum opening, it translates to nearly an 1-1/2in mesh. Twine diameter is approx. 1/8in (3.1mm) The standard widths supplied is approx. 10ft (when hung to its maximum opening).

Diamond Configuration-100 Meshes Deep x 260 Meshes Long can cover an area that is 10ft x 26ft Price = $1360.80 USD FOB Factory

When the netting is hung on the Square, the bars are nearly 1in. This translates to 1in x 1in square openings. The standard widths offered in square mesh configurations are 7ft and 14ft.

Square Configuration(w/1 mesh overlap seams)-199 Bars x 276 Bars can cover an area that is 14ft x 20ft Price = $2030.00USD FOB Factory

Please let me know if you would like me to send you a sample of our product

Thank you again for your inquiry and interest in UC Silver Netting for your trampoline needs. If you have any questions or need more information, please do not hesitate to contact me at (206)842-5623 or FAX at (206)842-6832.

Looking forward to your positive reply

Best Regards,
Xzalivar L. White
