Come on guys, the AC will never be sailed in "affordable" "fast" craft of any kind.

I say drop the affordable bit, let them spend as much as they want and advance the art of multi design and possibilities.

By the way, Stars and Stripes is alive and well and living in Florida, recently setting the Clearwater to Key West record. There's a thread on Sailing Anarchy:

Mike, one of the Stars and Stripes's was down at Buzz's Warf a few years back. I think they made three. They had both hard and soft sails. It still may be on Maui.

Caleb,

It probably didn't stay long as the state charges an arm, leg and option on your first born to use their rental land.

Dennis built two cats; one soft and one hard sail. He could have done the deal with a Hobie 17.
