The food products that are used in cycling are also excellent on the boat. The small energy bars or gels (that can easily be stored on the boat or stuffed in a pocket on your person) pack up to as much as 140 calories most of which are carbs. Or if you know you will hit a point during a regatta where you will be really tired, you can select a gel that has caffeine, sugar, and sustaining carbs to keep you going. And these products come in nice strong waterproof packaging.

Thanks Tom, but if it's all the same, I'll stick with the Trek and some beef jerky.

Well Tikipete,
That beef jerky may give you all the energy you need while sitting in the ac and watching tv, but you are going to find out that on that F16 rocketship you bought or on the trek, you will need more than just protein and a little fat. You will need fuel ...... mostly carbs and some fat. Do 6 or so long buoy races in 15 plus winds and your body is going to be like ..... " hey, Tiki, whats with this beef jerky crap. You think you're a cowboy or what?

Tom: I think you might be a little more competitive than I. For me, 15+ won't be happenin' for some time. At that point, you'll find me in the hot tub drinking something with an umbrella in it.

We have another member of the F17 Fleet! The 2006 F17 was purchased last week and will be coming to Caseville! We now expect to have sixteen F17s registered for the Great Lakes Championships!
Two others are interested in chartering F17s for this weekend.
I can't wait!

Seventeen F17s registered! It just keeps getting better and better! Now if only Nacra would step up production! I think they have their hands full with the demand for Infusions, so I am not expecting significant improvement in the availability of new F17s. There sure seems to be lots of interest in the Class in this area! I know at least one skipper with an order in but no delivery date yet.
From Nacra's perspective, you gotta love when demand outstrips production capacity!
