In light air while tacking I'm having problems with the battens not "popping" over. Battens too tight?

Also, has anyone found a good wind vane that does not interfere with the spinnaker, spinnaker pole, or jib furler?

Apply more downhaul, and they will come over. You probably need some downhaul anyway if the wind is so weak they dont pop over automatically.

I agree with Rolf about the downhaul.

I use telltails on the spinnaker pole bridle wires. A bridle fly has a really good chance of ripping a spinnaker if it gets anywhere near it.

Later,
Dan

I put a masthead wind indicator on mine and if it's pretty light I will sometimes look at it for reference. Typically though, some streamers tied to the spinnaker pole bridle wires is plenty of information.

We don't bother because it is always windy in OZ <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
