There is a little city called Liberia on their west coast, north west of their capital, San Jose. We (Delta Air Lines

I was there last summer, just in and out, never got to a beach, but all the major US carriers had flights in there. I was told the business is up about 800% since the land grab is on.
It was very un-developed last year, but our First Class section was full of developers and realators who are buying up all that virgin ocean front property and putting in resorts and golf courses. I didn't see any sailboats though, you might have the place all to yourself for a while!
There were very few roads down to the beaches, mostly only in the few resorts could you get a cat to the water. It reminded me of the Oregon coast. Trees right up to the beach, sharp drop into a big ocean and deep water. Then there is launching through that wave break the surfers love. It looked beautiful, but you know how that song goes: "Call some place Paradise, kiss it goodbye..." <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
