Posts: 6,049 Sebring, Florida. | The 5.5 is strong and fast, can be sailed (raced) solo or with crew. What else you want? No, it doesn't have the bow boyancy of an Inter 18 or Inter 20, but then nothing else does either.

Posts: 2 Panama City Beach, Florida | The Nacra 5.5sl is a great boat and fun to sail. I sailed one for years and loved it. The sail plan is not over powering so it does well in heavy air. It's a great boat for a guy and a girl or two guys who aren't too heavy----min wight is 275 for racing. It doesn't carry a lot of weight well.
still hanging in there!

Posts: 217 | It's not too heavy for a singlehanding, just leave the jib behind, (olr furl it), and it basically becomes a 5.5uni.

Posts: 2,074 Northfield,NH USA | I LOVE MINE! Either as a solo or with my 11 year old son it is great. I find it to be a great "teaching" boat for him as well. I'm only 165lbs and I can right it myself with a pole. I don't race, don't plan to and I'm having the time of my life with mine.
