Another trick I was told is to use nylon (blocks) in the daggerboard casings to prevent the daggerboards from cutting into the timber and wedging itself snug. Apparantly the board also runs smoother with the nylon.
Have you done that too James ?
Personally I would love to combine all of these comments into an updated version of the plans. Maybe this class can do something that builder didn't.
