Are they going to let discretion be the better part of valor in cases like that, or will we see another Worrell/ Jensen Beach debacle?
I don't see what all that broken equipment proves, other than beach cats aren't designed for light onshore wind with huge surf.
I'm not sure anyone can design a mast capable of withstanding being stuck in the sand while a 6 foot wave hits the boat. Does this make the boat "fragile" or "undependable"?
Are we testing the crash-worthiness of the boat, or the skill of the sailor?
