Grab the end that connect and put some dish washing soap where the slot is where tube connect.
SLOWLY move it in and out till you get it all the way out.
This will get all the sand and salt water out of in.

I do it to both of mine EVERY time I use time now and they have never stuck again. I almost lost one before I started doing this.
