for whatever it is worth... I was using the rope locks but they ended up abrading the line too much so I went back to the figure 8 knot and stopper ball. I am leaving the crew with the rope lock though so they can adjust it though as needed. How did you have the line wrapped around them?
Thanks and thats what were going back to – went to the work shed last night and pulled out the old SS dog bones, some 3/8” line, and started to work on getting it back to the original setup.
I went to the “Can’t Miss Ring” and rope lock system about three years ago when I rebuilt this boat and never had a problem with the rope locks or the rings. The only reason I replaced them was due to the fact the lines were getting frayed, and the locks that were there were looking a little fatigued.
