Hi Tom
In recent years I have had the chance to organise a couple of Club events plus the F16's Nations Cup for the Past 2 years and an A-Class Nationals. When I first started looking into NOR's and SI's I was amazed at the number of different Formats. But what was more astonishing was the difference in the amount of information, details and rules required by each of the various SI's commonly found on the internet. For instance the RYA's standard SI's seem endless and I for one would give up reading them after the first 5 minutes. Therefore, I plagiarized the SI's from a New Zealand Regatta which I found surfing the Net. Basically they are short, easy to understand and IMO give the right amount of information required to run a successful event. I will email you a copy for you to have a look at. I think the SI's can set the feel for an event so getting the right balance is very important, too short and not enough detail can lead to problems and vice versa you don't want to tie yourself down in red tape. (Goodluck)
