No you're not the only club but I have to ask, why did you do it?
I think there is a problem in Aus at the moment because it's become "the fashion" to have no drops, and clubs are just going ahead and doing their results this way. But if you score according to the blue book there is one drop allowed (A2). If there are to be no drops then this has to be stated in the Sailing Instructions (and probably ought to be mentioned in the NoR as well).
I went to two regattas last season that did a no-drop result but didn't put it in the sailing instructions. Did LBYC? Should the prizes be redistributed?
As for doing it at the titles I can't see any justification why we would.
Looking back over the results of past regattas, it seems to me that if there had been no drop then it just makes the result arbitrary. For instance at your opening regatta it looks to me like Darryn was clearly the best performer there - so why didn't he win?
Many previous Mosquito Titles would have had a different winner if there had been no drops and in every case I've seen it would not have been the best performing boat.
The Etchells ran with no drops because they were getting too aggressive on the course. I don't think we have that problem in the Mosquitoes - I can't speak for Lake Bonney of course

In a series of races it's not unusual for someone to suffer either a worse result or no result at all because of some event that wasn't their fault. If you go the no-drops route then every disadvantage suffered by anyone on the course has to then become the subject of a protest for redress - with the inevitable subjective and arbitrary result. I prefer there to be drop(s) so that everyone can just get on with sailing the regatta and put any misfortunes behind them.
Lets sail - not litigate!
