It's the sailor, not the boat. I've seen H-16s sail through some horrific conditions while the "bigger" cats were trashed. When Capt Slocum sailed around the world in his little friendship sloop everyone said he was crazy, they took measure of the boat, ... but not of the man.

So I'll give you some more advise this time its not about equipment:

1) "the 7 P's"- Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

2) think you decisions out, then whatever the decision is, and most importantly - Stick to your decision ... NO SECOND QUESSES !!!

almost everytime I have "second quessed" a decision I have ended up in trouble ... remember what I said about "the kindness of strangers" that is what has saved my butt on several occations when I second quessed myself. And frankly that is more about luck then skill ... you are lucky that a stranger is there to help ...
