Having a private forum is a very bad and unnecessary idea.
Also IMHO delegating moderation control to the GC is an even worse idea because it will appear there is a sort of "censoring" going on.
Maybe someone independent like Mary should be moderator , so anyone can send her a PM requesting closure of the thread when needed?
