How much different is the Tiger main from a custom square top? Could you put a used Tiger main on a Hobie 17? Could you also add the spinnaker?
This should answer the question. I have sailed with this spin for a couple of years now, in winds as high as 20 knots. In high winds the main must be centered, the sheet never released, downhaul off.
BTW, yes that is a 14 foot pole and a 235 sq ft chute.
