Hey Dave, We had to do that to friend's P-16 about 15 years ago. We drilled 1/4" hole then put an allen wrench in a drill to hollow out inside the hole. Then do grid that connects the hollows. Afterwards you have to fill and fair the holes which covers the stock non-skid.It came out solid and sturdy. If I were to do it again ,I think it would almost be easier to reconstruct the section with new glass and foam. Good luck with it, if ya got any questions gimme a shout ,ya got my number. Todd
