Great weather, a little on the light side for the first race, good steady breeze later in the day.
Sixteen boats in a portsmouth fleet; 8 A cats, 4 F16s, 3 F18s and 1 H16. Robbie Daniel and Wilder Robles (Robi) took 1st on a Capricorn. My memory is a little fuzzy but I think Been Moon, A cat, was second, can't remember who was in third.
Jennier Lindsey/Fred Metcalf, F18, were fourth. It was good to see Jennifer on the water after a long absence.
Seth Stern, was the top F16 by a mile, finishing fifth.
Ollie and Kelly Jason would have been near the top except for spin problems in the first race.
Stefan and Lissa K. were out on their Taipan 4.9, Todd Terrell and I were uni on Blade F16s. We had our own race, well behind the leaders, but fun all the same. Twice we had three boat overlaps at "C" mark. Last time 'round Todd fell victim to trapeze problems and ended up over board, Stefan and Lissa kept pushing me 'til I ran out of gas, screwed the spin hoist royally at the final "A" mark and they sailed away!
Arie's brother, Jacques(?) was visting from The Netherlands. They are pretty big guys and there just wasn't enough wind for them to get the H16 rolling.
Still, good food, good weather, good friends! Just another day in paradise!
