Hijack alert.....the new fangled salt water systems are actually chlorine generators that convert NaCl (table salt) to NaHCl (chlorine) through an electrolysis process. The end result in the pool is the same as a pool that has chlorine added to it. Damn....I have worked in the aquatics industry for faaar too long.
Damnit. My wife HAD to have a membership at this ONE gym in the area that had the special "salt water filtration system"....still paying through the nose.
Is it cheaper to operate or is it just a marketing scheme?
