What I was getting at was had he not had it wrapped there was NO way he would have been able to hang on. Even with all the wraps, he couldn't hang on and mangled his hand. They were clocking 25 +/- mph when he hit the water. Unless he was tethered in a very secure way he was going to get seperated.
