I am trying to generate some F16 interest in area D in Pensacola. I think it is a good, central location for all the southeast F16s. It is a really nice sailing area that stays pretty smooth in most wind conditions. Lots of restaurants, shops and bars you can walk to along the beach. Lodging should be pretty affordable. November is not the high season in Pensacola. Also my house could sleep about 6 in relative discomfort. Average high for late October/early November is 75. Average low 55.
I also wanted to see if anyone wanted to make it a long weekend and possibly sail Thursday and Friday. I talked with Jay Glaser at Glaser sails and he said they are available for coaching Thursday and Friday. He indicated it would be some instruction on the beach/checking everyones setup and then on the water coaching. They charge a daily rate plus travel expenses so it probably would be a little expensive but if we had enough participation it might be feasible. He suggested Matt as a possible local alternative for doing the coaching if he was going to be at the regatta.
Just let me know if anyone has any interest.
