Jeff, great stuff, next time you two go out in similar conditions, try letting the crew work the mainsheet, that will give him/her something to hang onto and stabilze him to the boat, while you can concentrate on steering the waves. All you have to do is say, "Ease", or "Trim" and after a few minutes you two will get in a rythm and go much faster, easier. If you want to hang on to something too, grab the traveler line.

And put a foot strap at the back for your aft foot to give yourself more stability when you stuff a big wave, that way you can stay put and hang onto him if he starts to slide foreward. I love it when it blows like that!
