I didn't see Pepin's original question, but you're right: this makes life a bit difficult for F16s. Racing 1-up F16s against the As and Shadows is great fun, and great promotion for the class. On the other hand, it stops us from racing as a mixed F16 fleet.
Two years ago, Ann and I took a last minute decision for me to race 1-up, because the alternative was a mixed handicap fleet of two other, uncomparable boats.
This year, we've planned that I'll do it 1-up, and at the moment, Ann and I are the only people competing 2-up regularly. When that changes, we may want to reconsider how we tackle this event.
In the meantime, for all you 1-up F16ers, this is a great opportunity to race against a big fleet of other singlehanded cats.

To all F16's
IF we can get a couple of years of 20ish boats then we will have a very good case to have our own start.
The Hurricane59's have lost their own start as there are too few boats; BUT they still get their own prizes.
The way the fleet is growing, I would hope in a couple of years time we might be in the place to displace one of the other fleets into the handicap fleet and we get our own start. We, as a class, would then need to decide if we want to take part in the Single handed champs or sail as a fleet; in the meantime, the simple solution for you Paul, is to get Anne a boat <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
