That's a bit harsh Simon (only kidding - I know what you mean).

I'm sure a member at McRae that sails there every week would experience some really good weekends for sailing. The problem is that the cat regatta has never yet coincided with one of these weekends. Hence I'm afraid it's become a bit of a standing joke that "you don't go to race at McRae for the pleasure of it". I know one year the weather is going to do the right thing and and it will be a sensational regatta - it has to one day.

McRae's reputation isn't enough to put me off the regatta, but sadly I can't come this year for other reasons. So that will help the weather to turn out good - just to spite me
