You might have enjoyed seeing the boat that a guy launched here today to go "cruising" in the backcountry for a few days. He designed and built it himself. It's a monohull, very shallow draft, hard chines, and it has a gaff rig sail and he has a small outboard on the back. It's set up to enclose fully for sleeping, sort of like the pop-top on one of those old VW campers, but much more elegant. He car-tops the whole thing on a small car. Name of his boat is "Slocum's Hornpipe," because Joshua Slocum is his hero.
He is going to go out to Nest Key just to check it out, so I showed him your picture of the dock with the luxurious restrooms.
