OR... instead of paint, go to a Hobby Shop, pick up some thin mylar sticky back film, color of your choice, cut to size and stick it only on the top.

This might weigh even less than paint, and be easier to use, certainly cheaper, but I don't know about the UV blockage of the film but they use it for RC airplanes.
