Wonderful conversation - I've been struggling for a few years to figure out why other cats aren't sailing with CSC - there aren't alot of places with beach launching and the venues are pretty good for CATS. The Club is CAT friendly (as much as we can expect a competitive group of monohull sailors to be CAT friendly).
So, what I hear Windyhill20 saying, if we can get a few CATS (non Isotopes) racing, then maybe others will join the racing. I'm game to try.
Governor's Cup has been added to the EMSA points schedule for next year.
Technical Note - I'm currently not on the CSC Board of Directors, but I was - and Eric's note on my compunction to toe the line is correct, but unofficially I totally agree with Eric (on this point anyway)
Social after Racing tomorrow, Vista Point, probably at the shelter maybe around 3.....
Joleen, if you have some link to the park people, I wish you'd ask them about working on the cat beach at Vista.
In the water at the foot of the gravel cat/windsurfer "ramp", out in the water just where you launch your boat are stumps, invisible just under the water surface. Just the right size for popping a hole in a hull or twisting an ankle.
Not that big, but it's going to take a backhoe/some piece of heavy equipment to get them out while someone spots them for an operator.
Someone needs say to them that cantaloupe-sized rocks are counter-intuitive on a beach...
