Posts: 171 Cary, NC | Joleen, if you have some link to the park people, I wish you'd ask them about working on the cat beach at Vista.
In the water at the foot of the gravel cat/windsurfer "ramp", out in the water just where you launch your boat are stumps, invisible just under the water surface. Just the right size for popping a hole in a hull or twisting an ankle.
Not that big, but it's going to take a backhoe/some piece of heavy equipment to get them out while someone spots them for an operator.
Someone needs say to them that cantaloupe-sized rocks are counter-intuitive on a beach...
Definitely smacked my centerboards on some of those stumps before.
