Yes the daggerboard well is attached to the deck!!!

To fix/rebuild Randy Smythe's Sandwich Island-Worrell 1000 P19 (Serial# X001) that my friend owns we cut a "Baywindow" in the inside side of the hulls 6" high by 48"long to access the inside to replace all the broken bulkheads fore and aft of the centerboard trunk. Nothing too technical ... just be sure to bevel the edges of the cut ... think of carving a pumpkin!!!

You maybe able to just reinforce the outter skin w/ a couple of layers of additional cloth/epoxy .... are there any cracks visible??? It's hard to tell w/o seeing and feeling the damage
